Pancakes are the indisputable star of the show at Fluffy Fluffy Dessert Café, and these are a far cry from the flapjacks served up at the diner on the corner. Fluffy Fluffy, the English translation of Fuwa Fuwa, the Japanese name the brand uses internationally, perfectly describes the artisanal soufflé-style confections on order. Of 15 flavor variations, the best seller is the Tiramisu Pancake.
“The Tiramisu Pancake is inspired by the classic Italian favorite, expertly blending flavors of the East and West together, which is our specialty,” says Benson Lau, founder and director of business development. Egg whites are whipped to soft peaks and slow cooked at a low temperature to achieve the round, cloud-like pancakes. For service, a stack is topped with a mix of whipped cream, mascarpone and cream cheese, plus a dusting of cocoa powder. The pancakes are served with a side of coffee syrup for drizzling over top. “Each bite is deliciously fluffy, airy, creamy and sweet. The dessert never feels heavy. It suits the palates of all ages and cultures.”
