Menu flights are a win for diners and operators alike. For guests, flights can help mitigate the oft-agonizing selection process when the brain is paralyzed by competing cravings, or it can eliminate debate over the choice of a shareable. For operators, flights are an opportunity to showcase their culinary expertise, incubate new concepts and present a defining flavor narrative.
The Triple Threat Slider Flight at celebrity family fast casual Wahlburgers checks all those boxes. “People love a combo plate,” says Paul Wahlberg, co-owner and executive chef. “Variety, shareability and approachable innovation make it a guest favorite. It’s fun, satisfying and offers something for every palate.”
The trio consists of the Classic Meatball, with provolone and arrabbiata sauce; the BBQ Bacon Burger, with cheddar, bacon, jalapeño, barbecue sauce and avocado spread; and the Crispy Chicken, with fried chicken, bacon, tomato, lettuce and chipotle mayo. The Classic Meatball was the biggest question mark, says Wahlberg. “Originally, we considered pulled pork, but it felt overdone in the industry. We wanted something distinct yet still rooted in our burger DNA. The final trio strikes the right balance. Each stands on its own yet complements the others. Sliders give us the freedom to be creative while keeping the experience approachable and craveworthy.”
